Spirit of Heaviness

Location:

Pain or tension at the base of the brain, near the cerebellum.

Communication:

Primary way is through false or negative feelings and emotions. Does not speak many words but operates mainly through the subconscious mind (cerebellum and spinal cord) to project the false feelings. The spirit will try to make you feel like you are all alone and no one can help you. It wants to isolate you from believing God can help you.

Example of Communication:

Feelings of depression, loneliness, isolation, fatigue, despair, and hopelessness. The person will perceive the world around them as if they are looking through a cloud of negativity and they will tend to focus on the bad and not the good in each situation. Very common stronghold is a lie of deficiency and inadequacy that the person believes about themselves.

Side Effects in Your Body:

Tension in the muscles on the neck and shoulders. Sometimes pressure on the head. The person may even feel a constant weight pulling them down as if carrying a heavy backpack. Can interfere with how your subconscious mind processes information, so when you sleep you have a hard time dreaming and you wake up tired even though you slept all night.  Can cause you to fall asleep when you need to pay attention or when you are trying to read the bible. Causes problems with focus and attention span which make it hard to concentrate on a specific topic or task. Also causes fear responses like when you feel something is off or something is watching you but you can’t identify what it is.

Read Bible Verses:

Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV) - 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Psalms 34:17-19 (NIV) 17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. 18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. 19 The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all;

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Isaiah 61:3 (NKJV) To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

Other translations replace the word heaviness with these: disheartened, failing, despair, discouragement, broken, grief, fainting, sadness, weakness, and sorrow.

Luke 15:22 (NIV) “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.

Are you ready to break free from the Spirit of Heaviness?
Jesus is waiting.  Receive the freedom, healing, and love only Jesus freely offers.

How to Break the Stronghold:

To break this spirit you need to replace it with a garment of praise as it says in Isaiah 61:3. There needs to be a spiritual exchange of clothing from old to new. The person may have a stronghold where they believe they are inadequate is some way. Meaning they believe they are broken and when God made them, he left something out or made a mistake.

Simple Steps to Freedom:

  1. Ask for angels to bring a garment of praise from heaven and have them wrap it around the persons like a robe.

     a.  This can impart revelation to them in their spirit of how to begin to praise God for how wonderfully he made them to be.

     b.  In Luke 15 when the prodigal son returned home the first thing the father did was put his best robe on his son.

     c.  This was a reminder of the love and grace the father had for him to cover any shame he had for his sins.

   2.  Begin to praise God for how wonderful he made you to break the stronghold. The best example in the bible is in found in Psalms 139. The whole Psalm talks about the relationship God wants to have with us.

  3.  Before the next step, you need to tell yourself that you will really believe these verses are true for me and I will refuse to continue until I believe them.  The person needs to specifically focus on verses 13-17 and read them to themselves until they actually believe its true.

     a.  Psalms 139:13-17 (NIV) – 13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. 17 How amazing are your thoughts concerning me, how vast is the sum of them!

     b.  Praise God for how you were made!

“So if the Son (Jesus) sets you free, you will be free indeed” – (NIV)
